Jérôme Epinette

JÉRÔME EPINETTE

Jérôme Epinette, a French perfumer born in Burgundy, grew up surrounded by vineyards and the quiet alchemy of scent, first discovering fragrance in his mother’s perfume shop. Drawn equally to science and sensory experience, he studied biochemistry in Dijon before refining his craft at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. He began his career with Robertet in Paris in 2003, later helping establish its New York creative center, where he continues to work today. His upbringing among wines, botanicals, and artisanal traditions instilled a deep respect for raw materials and the emotional resonance they carry, shaping a perfumer whose work bridges heritage and modernity.

Epinette’s creative philosophy is rooted in precision, restraint, and storytelling. He composes with a minimalist hand, favoring short formulas that allow each ingredient to radiate with clarity and purpose. Seamlessly blending exceptional naturals with innovative synthetics, he reimagines familiar accords—creamy vanilla, luminous florals, textured woods—through subtle, unexpected contrasts. His fragrances are defined by a refined sensuality and an addictive, skin-like quality, leaving behind a soft yet unmistakable trail. Distinctive without excess, his work captures fleeting impressions of place and memory, transforming them into compositions that feel intimate, modern, and enduring.
