Florian Gallo

Florian Gallo’s fascination with scent began in childhood in Paris, inspired by his Armenian mother’s cooking, his scientist parents, and visits to Grasse. Determined to pursue perfumery, he studied at ISIPCA in Versailles and the Robertet school in Grasse, where he developed a deep love for raw natural materials. A formative year in Buenos Aires broadened his global perspective before he joined Firmenich, where he helped launch their first Fine Fragrance Workshop in Shanghai—approaching fragrance creation with entrepreneurial energy and a cross-cultural outlook.

Gallo’s style reflects a passion for woods like cedar and vetiver, smoky leather notes, spicy oud, and the modern sensuality of ambrox. His work balances natural depth with contemporary polish, enhanced by his interest in sensory science and artificial intelligence as tools for emotional resonance in perfumery. In 2019, he received the International Perfumer-Creator Award from the Société Française des Parfumeurs for a tobacco-rhûm fragrance—a milestone recognition of his rising talent.
